My name is Dr. Ernest E. Mackins, and I have worked in education for the past 19 years. Today, I teach high school in the Career and Technical Education (CATE) Department, where I serve as Co-Chair. I have been an Anderson School District Two administrator for the past nine years. Before working for Anderson School District Two, I was the Science Department Chair at Riverside Middle School. I taught 7th and 8th Grade Science at Riverside Middle School in Pendleton, South Carolina, for six years. I also served as a Global Development Facilitator (GCDF) and Transition Specialist in Oconee County during the 2006-2007 school year at the Adult Education Center in Oconee County.

My educational background is extensive, as I received a double major from Clemson University in 1998, which included a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. I spent 15 years in the business world, serving as a retail store manager for 10 years and another five years as an assistant bank manager at a local bank. I elected to continue my education when I felt a calling to the field of education. I received my Master of Arts in Middle School Teaching (MAT) in May 2007 from Clemson University. Go Tigers! I also received my Master of School Administration in August of 2011 from Furman University. In January of 2016, I completed my Educational Specialist Degree from Clemson University (Ed.S.). I graduated from Converse University on May 20, 2021, with my Doctorate of Education in Professional Leadership. I am a US Army Veteran who served during the Desert Storm Campaign. I am a member of the VFW Post 6089 in Anderson, SC, where I serve as the Senior Vice Commander. I have been married to Erica L. Mackins for 23 years, and we have resided in Anderson for the last 33 years. We have two children, Adrian (21) and Travis (16). I am a Pleasant View Baptist Church member, which my family attends. This is why I know collaboration and cooperation will move our community and country forward without sacrificing our Christian core values!
